Pictures taken in 1 of the most popular temple in Lahad Datu, Guan Yin Miao. 2 years back they still have Lion Dance here but dunno why they prefer to have Kirin Dance ~麒麟.HHhmm...... I still prefer to watch Lion ler..... anyway..
According to some of the Old Ancient Chinese Referrences, A kirin should look like this... Something like a breed of Tiger and Dog.
And these would be the "humanized" version of 麒麟. Follow by some Kung Fu performance.

your CNY celebration back in your hometown looks so happening. i like the lion dance very much but see less of them nowadays.
the kirin dance look the same as lion dance tho'.
Kirin dance and lion dance almost the same ler ~ just the different between background music and the Kirin shake their head more.... and lion seems to have more stunts and they come in different colors too ~ I've seen Blakc, Green, Yellow, Orange, White....
